Life’s a Beach

Travel time to California was the name of the game last week to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with Honey Man’s family.   A good time was had by young and old alike at the beach
The beach at Carlsbad to be exact. A darling beach community.
On Friday Queenie and Honey Man traveled inland for a wee adventure.  First up Queenie, bedecked in power shopping pink got her fabric fix at Quilt In A Day. I’m a long time fan of quilter extraordinaire, Eleanor Burns and was tickled pink to visit one of her shops.
Next up we headed to Buffalo Brothers where Honey Man window shopped till he dropped playing all sorts of mandolins and guitars he’s been eyeing for a while.
Growing up in beautiful Ohio winter holidays were spent with family and friends, bundled up in warm winter clothes and for the most part indoors.  The change to a cooler season ushering in the holiday seasons.
This was Queenie’s first holiday spent staying at a beach. I must say shorts and flip flops are also a lovely way to usher in the holiday season!!!

Until next time…
Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

On Thursday in the United States we celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving.  A day set aside to reflect on the gift of life granted to each, love freely given and received, knowledge gained from lessons learned, and material blessings that comfort and sustain.

Queenie is so very thankful for
each and everyone of you
who come to visit and follow
Always, Queenie Believe.
Queenie and her court send thoughts and prayers
for health, happiness, and peace
to you and your families.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Until we meet again,
Have a great day!

Mexican Bird of Paradise

Flanking either side of the entrance to the office building where Queenie disguises her royal visage and brings home the bacon there are two sizeable Bird of Paradise plants. They are interesting plants… Ultra modern… Minimalist in their floral generosity. Perfect for office buildings, pinstripes and the occasional power lunch.
Out here is beautiful Arizona we also have a kissing cousin (which is really no relation at all) to the Bird of Paradise… The Mexican Bird of Paradise.
Vibrant red-orange-yellow clusters of never ending blooms are scattered throughout a floating cloud of lacy, fern-like, dark green.
These beauties are in full bloom from spring through autumn endlessly renewing and giving.
You will see them throughout the Valley of the Sun. A true work horse of floral beauty.
They’re just the kind of plant that makes Queenie smile.  What flower makes you smile?

Until next time…
Have a great day!!!

Election Day Fun

Today in the United States it is election day.
In honor of this opportunity to exercise a wee small voice in the greater sea of voices Queenie and the Delicious have selected a number from one of Queenie’s favorite musicals, Will Roger’s Follies entitled Our Favorite Son.  Years ago Queenie saw this show not once but twice with the original cast while it was on tour in the beautiful city of San Diego, California. We hope you enjoy...
Until next time…
Queenie and the Delicious hope your election day is great!
