Quilting Adventure – Garden at Hermosa Castille

There is a wall in the living room of Hermosa Castille
that begs for a Queenie quilting adventure.
The story begins this summer when Honey Man and I purchased a couple of vintage side chairs for in front of the wall in question. For the seats of these sweet chairs, someone had lovingly created needle point seat covers.
Just the old-timey floral jumping off point for Queenie's imaginative flight of fancy
for this quilting adventure.
As you know I love Love LOVE flowers.
A  peek-a-boo, snap shot of an imaginary garden
at Hermosa Castille would be a choice setting indeed.
First up the background upon which the garden will grow.
Next, the creation of imaginary floral applique elements
in colors all their own.
Full blown blossoms down to wee baby buds...
And greenery galore.
With growing stacks of garden elements in hand,
The laying out and arranging began.
This particular layout was most pleasing
at this stage of this quilting adventure.
While photographing,
(sprinkled liberally with pondering and conjuring)
Queenie decided each little element needed a touch of dimensionality.  So, I decided on stuffing each with a layer of batting to create a wee pillow effect for each applique.
Queenie's now nursing a blister on the royal right thumb
from all the tracing, trimming, and stuffing
of wee bits of batting for each dainty piece.
Ahhhh the suffering one must endure for great art! –lol-
Till next time…
Have a great day!

Queenie, your poor royal right thumb. This art quilt is pretty and you are very creative to come up with the flowers and whole project.

wow, Wow, and WOW. ;) Now this is an extraordinary labor of LOVE. I cannot begin to imagine even attempting a quilt, but I think they are gorgeous. I've always dreamed of having a handmade one. Do you sell any, Queenie? If not, seeing them front row center here at your grand theater is certainly a delight.
Thank you for stopping by. Glad to hear you enjoyed my walk with kindness. :)

XOXO's,
Marcia

Hi Queenie, Blisters are no fun, but when you are finished and your quilt is hanging on the wall, and your blister is healed . . . it will be wonderful :)
I can not wait to see your finished quilt, in fact your finished wall, chairs and all.

In regard to the comment you left:
What a lovely thing to say. It may be my first and last. I love setting it out this time of year, but it was a lot of work and you have to wear a dust-mask. I have a hard time wearing those things. For one thing my glasses always fog up when I wear one for very long, LOL.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Now you remind me to start working on that quilt of mine! I really need your blog for quilting inspiration :) The house you wrote about in your comment on my blog seems magical- and it´s magical too how one can attach oneself to a certain house- there is some magic involved there I think.

Thanks for coming by for a Blog Visit. Had to smile about your recessive Bling Gene... it's a dominant gene in our lineage, no skipping any of the Females in our Family, we all are heavily afflicted with our attraction to it... like Magpies! *Winks*

Loving your Quilt Inspiration and can't wait to see the finished result!
