Yay and hurray!
Queenie created this lovely for the Modern Quilt Guild’s Michael Miller fabric challenge.
A wee bundle of fat eighths arrived earlier this year just as the U.S. was emerging from the bitter cold winter.
The cold grey print,
And the warm spring colors of the fabrics,
In combination with the hope of a sunny spring,
Inspired the multiple layers of my design.
Complete, of course, with much quilting,
With Sir Owen the Innova.
Thankfully, I was able to complete the quilt,
Just in time for show and tell at the Phoenix Modern Quilt Guild’s July meeting.
Now for some quilt stats…
Size: 31 ¼” x 38 ¼”
Fabric: Michael Miller
Quit Top: Original design by Queenie Believe, using Sharon Schamber’s Piecelique and Applique techniques
Quilting: Queenie on my Innova Longarm quilting machine
Thread: Fil-Tec Glide
Batting: 2 layers – 80/20 cotton on the bottom and Dream Wool on the top
All in all this was a wonderfully fun project!
Until
next time,
Have a great day!
