Last week Queenie and Honey Man were far far away from the Hermoso Castillo visiting the vacation hot spot of the country, beautiful Ohio. As you may recall the Queenie Mother and Father live in Ohio. Having grown up there, I must say Ohio really showed itself off with picture perfect weather.
Our first stop was to Waterville, the cutest little restored canal town ever! Located right along the Maunee River…
Waterville has done a lovely job restoring a part of the Erie canal system.
Next, we took a day trip to Amish country in Indiana. Honey Man (my sunkissed Californian) had never been to Indiana. We adventured to Shipshawana. Fun name for a town me thinks.
Where automobiles share the road with horse and buggy!
What Amish community would be complete without a car buggy wash.
Earlier this week was Honey Man’s birthday… Pssst… Just between you and me it was one of those milestone birthdays.
So, Queenie planned a special adventure for Honey Man because he is “my little rock and roll”
A trip to Cleveland's…
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum!!!
After we walked our feet off at the museum we stayed the night in Lakewood, a beautiful community nestled on the shore of Lake Erie.
From the beach you could see the skyline of the great city of Cleveland.
As with every great body of water there are Seagulls a plenty.
On our way back to the homestead we stopped off in Fremont and toured the grounds of the Rutherford B. Hayes House.
I remember as a young school girl touring the house and have been in love with it ever since.
Queenie and Honey Man even snuck in 9 holes of golf at the Bowling Green State University’s golf course.
All in all it was a awesome vacation
and a good time had by all!!!

Oh my goodness it's great to catch up with you! Thanks for taking me along with you on your summer vacation!
You look so happy standing with your feet in the water and the sun shining on your face. Give your Honey Man a Birthday hug for me. Take care. C
Looks like a wonderful time was had by all! I adore Ohio~ found my way there years ago and simply loved it, the rolling green hills were the most striking I'd ever seen ~ so many different shades of green. I'm so glad your travels were happy and a very ♫Happy Birthday♫ to your "Honey-man"!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! My son graduated last year from Oberlin - kind of in that neck of the woods. I am visiting from A Fanciful Twist, and hope to see you at the Mad Tea Party!
