New Adventure

Queenie is about to embark on a new adventure in the mundane.
This past Friday was my last day wielding my paraprofessional paper pushing talents for one organization where I had served a total of about 5-ish years.  These are the lovely going away flowers they gifted me.
Last week I was hurrying and scurrying about, tying up loose ends before my departure.  Alas, Queenie was a bit neglectful and did not post to my blog (insert reverent removal of tiara, head hanging low and heavy sigh).  Sometimes being a responsible adult trumps Queenie’s monarchy in blogland…
Recently, Honey Man and I did do a wee bit of shopping for my new work adventure…
Yeah, I know, not exactly cutting edge fashion but they’ll do nicely accessorizing business suits and other such office wear costumes for my new work adventure as a senior paraprofessional paper pushing. You notice I did throw in a pair of sassy red ones. Queenie firmly believes a girl can’t have too many red shoes!
This week I’m home taking a much needed break, puttering about Hermosa Castillo with the Delicious and working on a collaborative quilt project.
The Queenie Mother created the lovely embroidery center panels. I did the swagged boarder and will quilt and finish off this lovely quilt. The rainbow colored bits in the pictures are safety pins and will go away once I’ve worked some quilting magic.
The quilt is a celebration of life and love for my brother, B the Brave and his new wife Tammy.
Until next time…
Have a great day!

Happy 2013!!!

Wow! Here we are in a brand new year…
While Queenie thinks she is almost over the writing typing of 2012, secure in her finger training to dance over the keys typing 2013 this wee cartoon makes me smile.
For many the start of a new year is a time of setting goals and reflecting on missed expectations… Hmmmm…
Psssst… a little royal secret…  As you may recall, Queenie really does not set forth a list of “New Year’s Resolutions.” We are not amused by the possibility of self imposed failure. –lol-
In this season of Queenie’s timelessness, I daily try to quietly and simply do my best to humbly accept the successes, graciously learn from the failures, appreciate each day as it comes and be thankful for even the smallest blessings.
However your tradition adventures you forward in the start of a New Year let Queenie, and her Court wish you peace, love, and the showering of God's grace throughout 2013.
And...
A BIG Thank You to all of our followers and visitors, for your kind words and continued visits to Queenie’s wee blog!!!
Until next time…
Have a great day!

A Very Minnie Christmas

Merry Christmas All!!!
Minnie Delicious here reporting to you this fine Christmas day from my new dog-dog bed at Hermosa Castillo

Yep, that’s right! Me and my sister, Callie got new beds for Christmas. We are such happy K9s!!!
Shall I take you on a tour of Hermosa Castillo Christmas cheer?

OK! Here we go…

First up our tree,

Full of individual cherished ornaments

Made special for Queenie by the Queenie Mother.

Next up the wee Christmas village the magically appears each year about this time kind of like Brigadoon but covered in warm Arizona snow.
Onward we travel to the family/great room where the magic gateway for Santa sits in front of the fireplace.

An extra luminous treat this year is the wee Christmas tree perched high atop the no touchy shelf where even I can’t reach my long nosey nose to smell!

And pretty golden jingle bells,

Ascend the stairs to the upper reaches of Hermosa Castillo.

From Me and my sister Callie and my Mama and my Papa...
We wish you the
Merriest and Happiest Christmas Day!!!

Until next time…
Furry love and doggie kisses!!!
Always, Minnie Delicious

A Little Christmas Cheer

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Hermosa Castile.Queenie’s been a bit haggled this month recovering from surgery but, we were able to muster a wee flurry of elfin magic this year…
The tree now stands vigil in the front window.
Trinity lights and snowflakes are all a-glow.
And Christmas wreaths merrily light our studio windows.
Festive holiday cheer also abounds within our Hermosa Castile which (fingers crossed) Queenie hopes to share a few snaps of before the end of the year.

This evening is the winter solstice,
the longest night of the year.
Let us all remember to keep the light of love
shining brightly within our hearts.
A Blessed Yule to All!

Until Next Time…
Have a great day!

On the Mend

Queenie’s been hunkered down in a wee winter hibernation recovering from corrective surgery to help with her Achilles heel… the dreaded sinuses. Some tidying up and re-plumbing was needed to get them into good working order.  As a result I’ve not been making the rounds in cyberspace but concentrating on getting well and trying to conjure a little Santa elfin magic.
Rest assured, Queenie is on the mend and will be up and about hopefully in time to spread a little holiday cheer hither and yon through blogland.
Until next time…
Have a great day!
